what a beautiful week it has been outside! i just got back cleaning the office and going for a walk. Breathing in the fresh air and the coolness of the fall, can not get much better.
Well this week has been pretty laid back on my end. Monday i got struck with a bad case of the burns (heart burn that is). It was very painful. Sue got me some medicine to calm it down. I was sad that i even had to miss bible study.
Tuesday, my stomach was still weak and wanted to be careful what i put in it. Besides the stomach i had a wonderful night! i got to see doody. Why we never thought of this before, but we met half way in Lima ohio and decided the first one to get there had to find the resturant to eat at. Well he beat me, so he found olive garden. It was perfect. After we ate it was pretty nice out so we went for a stroll and found sam's club! We both were not members but got in without saying a word and found some chairs to lounge on. it was awesome. so we sat there for about an hour and talked. Then headed out and sat in the car to talk more. It was great and much needed.
Wednesday, was a busy day. Stomach still not a hundred percent. Very frustrating, but once again just watching what i eat. This was a busy day. Had our staff mtg and small group. Felt like both went well. Sorta an emotional day though, probably because i did not get much sleep the night before.
Today, is beautiful. Stomach is better. Hopefully it stays that way, but still watching what i eat. I am leading the Bible time at say yes today. That should be interesting. Jean is having some skin cancer taken off her nose. I miss her cuz she hasnt been around all day. Nothing too serious on this procedure, but keep her in your prayers.
Prayer:
-Jean
-Strength, courage, confidence
-Wisdom and understanding
-This sunday is our accreditdation service and will be having a feast afterward. Pray for people to come celebrate!
-The new building plans www.faithcommunitywest.com ...nothing really to new on this but we did get a new roof. just need prayer for things to keep moving along.
-The community around here. Healing/health
Thank you for supporting me along the way in this journey. You are loved.

woot!
Helloooo!
Another week has arrived. :) This week is also halloween week. Kids come around asking for candy in their cute sometimes scary costumes. They call it beggars night around here...not sure if that is what we call it in indiana...at least i have never heard that, all i know is trick or treat night. so anywho, on beggars night we make it super cool around here. We buys full size candy bars, hot dogs, and hot chocolate and talk with people as they eat and then move on. Im really excited to do this on thursday night! It seems to be a great way to meet new people and fellowship with the neighborhood!
TOmorrow is my time where i take a couple of women to the arthritis class. This is always an entertaining time as i am the youngest by about 30 years. I went to the Y on monday and saw a woman i know from the class and she asked why i wasnt at the class. I said i only come on wednesdays when i bring a couple of women. She said oh. I was thinking to myself...oh boy they probably think i have arthritis. but thats ok. Its a good time. I wouldnt trade it for nuthin. :)
Wednesday night is our teen hangout. We will have different stations like wii, card making, hot dog roasting, games, making carmel apples, for the high school kids. Im pretty excited! We usually have small groups for the teens and they meet at different houses, where this party will bring us all together. Life is good cuz i get to party with teenagers, go where the food is...man life cant get much better. :)
Prayer:
-Wisdom
-Our teen night on Wed.
-Beggars night on Thurs.
-Schooling assignments
-Jean's pain/comfort for pain
Im continually amazed by the Lord and His love for His children.

cynical ever?
cynical according to dictionary.com = distrusting or disparaging the motives of others.
Right now i am about to finish The Irrestible Revolution by Shane Claiborne and as i am reading this book, the more i realize how cynical i have become. This book is about Claiborne's life and how he is a radical for Christ. I love it how he does not live by fear but by the power of the Word and Christ in his life. It brings be back to my high school years where i was bold for the Lord and was not letting ANYTHING stop me...then it seems as i have become older and more educated, i started to become more cynical. SICK. I suppose because being a radical is so different in this world and people think you are crazy and even ridiculous! they are cynical of you and i did not like that feeling. You really get persecuted as a radical which is awesome if you think about it! But i let others opinions rub off on me and satan get me down i suppose, but i dont wanna be like a pharasee (aka cynical) and judge people who are crazy. Man i wanna be crazy for the Lord. I wanna see miracles happen. I want to live on the edge. Some might say well you need to be realistic here, hmm, really? I love how Claiborne said when Christ saved him, his life was messed up. Christ messed his life up! Claiborne says, "I started to think maybe i should beware of things that are cool and normal, because Jesus didnt seem to be either of those" (231). I must get out of this cynical thinking and be more radical for the Lord. Im sick of sitting and watching others take action while im on the side line judging. This book is crazy i must say...i do recommend it! ha only if you dare!
Ok phew i feel a little fired up as you can see... Last weekend was the 5k. I made it! I actually placed third in my age group (20-29, i think), but not sure how many where in my age group. Probably three. :) Oh well, at least i got a metal. It was alot of fun. Sue ran it as well and placed 2nd in here age group! holla! she did really well. I was proud of her. :) We had a great time in the FREEZING cold and managed to get er' done.
Sue is hiking the Grand Canyon this weekend with her sis and two others. Noone has received a call that they are stuck down there so we will hope for the best. :) Im sure they are having a great time. Due to sue being gone i along with Ben (assistant pastor) was incharge of Say Yes which is the tutoring prog. Well thursday we only had two kids show up...no worries i dont think it was cuz we were in charge i think it was due to the NUMEROUS amounts of sickness! We made the best of it and had fun. I have enjoyed this tutoring program. Getting to know the kids more has been great. The ministry here is going great. The people are a blessing to me. Im blessed to be living with a family who sacrifices a lot.
Well, sorry this is lonnnnggggg. I need to update more often. Now to the prayer requests:
-People to be set free from addictions.
-Ministry here...that we continue to be aware of needs and stay focused.
-Sickness: people to get better and for us to stay healthy
-Family back home: step dad, Hal is having spleen problems, Dad:going to church this coming sunday again, Mom: under alot of stress due to hal laid off from GM
-Jeff, Sue, Ben, Andi, Jean

laughing...
So i think i know what i wanna be when i grow up...a laugher! laughing brings me joy and you know when you laugh so hard your stomach hurts...that is the best. Laughing is the best medicine and helps keep like simple and not so serious. i love laughing. So as the movie Touched by an Angel says, "It can happen" that i could become a laugher when i grow up. Just gotta have a positive attitude toward like.
Well last week seemed to fly by (as most weeks do). The small groups are going well. Last week we had two missionaries come stay for part of the week. One was from equador and the other from dominican republic. The missionary from dominican loved to play wii. So i spent most of my wii'ing it up. Lets just say...i became a pro in bowling, but was beat a couple of times from a friend back home. Im not competive at all! haha It was great having the missionaries here though. I was really encouraged by them and their stories.
I signed up for a 5K (3.1 mi). I get a t-shirt and free lunch. That is worth 20 dollars to me which is the cost. :) Hopefully i make it. Today i went running in my BRIGHT green shirt that i got from doody for my b-day, and it was an interesting run. I almost got attacked by these two little dogs. I was running and saw these dogs and realized they were loose. I stopped in my tracks and was like seriously! finally they left me alone, dont worry i didnt kick them though i thought about it! Then because of my bright green jacket i got many interesting looks. I ran up behind a guy that lit his cigarret and was thinking dude you are killing my lungs...im really sensitive about my lungs! Anywho, the run was great and interesting none to say the least!
Well after school tutoring and small groups are still kickin! They are fun and entertaining none to say the least. :) Well here are some prayer requests:
-Wisdom and understanding
-The building (wisdom)
-strength (esp as we run 5k)
-Jean (my roomie)
-The ministry and people apart of it
God is GRRREAT!

put a little joy in it...
Hi all!
Alot happening around here. Last week was the kick off to our youth small groups. Then this week was the kick off to our after school program called Say Yes. It has been fun. Today we had our Say Yes then youth group again. We went over the armor of God. Mmm i love that we have victory in Christ. It was a great group tonight. I love the girls that are in it.
I am reading a great book called "The Emotionally Healthy Church". Very good and thought provoking. I recommend to all! Monday night was also a kick off to a twenties group that the assistant pastor and his wife lead. Lots of fun. Tomorrow i lead a ladies group with Jean (my roommate). We are going through a study on the New Testament called shaped by the story. Its a picture illustration of the NT stories. pretty cool.
So as you can see things are busy, but i feel as though i am finding rest in the midst of busy. God is good and i say that with tears in my eyes. What a might God we serve.
Prayer:
-To continue to find rest in the busyness.
-God to continue use this ministry.
-Fellowship among all of the believers...that it would be a refreshing time.
-Wisdom and courage
-Family back home
PRAISE: My dad is going to church this sunday! actually the church i was saved in...how cool is that. Im so excited to see what the Lord does. Continue to pray for him.
-Jeff and Sue -wisdom, strength, new building www.faithcommunitywest.com
Thank you all for your prayers. Keep em coming! :) Love you

We are a new creation...
Yesterday we had a baptism service. IT WAS AWESOME! First off, we bought a horse trough for our baptism, which is kickin smooth. It holds a 150 gallons of water. Andi and I filled the thing up with hot water, cuz we had the baptism inside. Then the sermon was great. Guess what Jeff talked about...Baptism. Great sermon on how we have victory in Christ over sin and a new life. Then my dear friend Lina got baptized. I had the privelege to help dunk her. No worries i didnt hold her under. :) But really it was an awesome time at church. The Spirit of the Lord was there. God is good.
Fall is coming, which means small groups are coming up and say Yes our after school tutoring program is coming up as well. Getting excited.
News from back home: My dad is doing well. He calls about every night now. He told me tonight that he has been sober for about 50 days now. One day at a time. God is working in him.
Prayer:
-Well again just want to praise the Lord for the baptisms on sunday.
-Wisdom and understanding
-Plans for our new building. You can always go to faith communities website which is posted on a couple of my entries below to read about our new building.
-Dad and family back home

Wont you take my life, i give myself to you
HI.
The other night i had an opportunity to go to an AA (alochol annonymous) meeting with one of my neighbors, Barb. There was a speaker that night and it was good to hear his story. People seem to be very vulnerable at AA cuz they are looking for help. Oh how i would love to take these people under my wing. I seem to be sensitive to these people cuz of the addictions my dad has. This guy that talked made me almost cry at times because its a sad disease. There is so much more to life than waisting it on addictions, but anywho i had a lot of thoughts after that meeting. Good thing i have a journal! :)
Yesterday (8-18) my dad got out of Jail. He called but i missed his call. I was really nervous and scared to talk to him. I knew i would probably cry, but i finally got the courage after watching touched by an Angel :) to call him. What a great talk dad and i had. I told him my feelings that have been lingering up all these years. I did not yell in anyway or try to put blame on him, i simply just wanted him to know how i feel. My dad was very open to it and understood. Yes i did cry but dad finally listened to me. It was a great talk. I know my dad thinks im the world to him and since i am a part of his flesh and blood, as he said, he wants to better himself as a dad. Now i can only hold on for this journey and do my best to communicate and be honest with him. I am not responsible for his actions and addictions, but i pray that i would do my part of loving him. This is NOT easy, but it IS possible. Lord give me your strength and let my life reflect my words.
Prayer:
-My dad, Steve. Pray for satan's hands to be bound from his life and that God would bring someone into his life to befriend him in a positive way.
-Addictions here. Many people with addictions. Alcohol, pills(pain killers and diet), drugs, and many other addicitons. Pray for God to set them free.
-This ministy. We have a new building and are waiting for go ahead from the state and other things that need to be taken care of. So pray that we would choose to wait patiently and trust. Ben and Andi (the new couple/assisstant pastor) seem to be adjusting well, but pray that they continue to adjust with their new ministry and changes.
-Tomorrow we are going to have a teen night. Pray for the teens that they would be encouraged. Also for the rain to hold off.
-Family back home.
-Jeff and Sue, strength. ALso jean, still in pain, pray her attitude would be joy.
-Pray that i would continue to use my time wisely. To be dilligent and to continue to desire the Lord more and more.
Choose joy!
